Eudora

To enable multiple email accounts in Eudora, you will need to create separate shortcuts for each new email account. Before you start, ask your system administrator if you are allowed to connect to an external POP3 server.

  1. Right-click anywhere on your desktop. From the dropdown menu, Click on New, then Shortcut.

  2. This will bring you into a Create Shortcut dialogue box. Click on the Browse button to find the Eudora executable file. Click Next when done.

  3. In the Select a name for the shortcut: box, type the name your new email account. Click on Finish when done.

  4. Find your new shortcut and right-click on it. Click on Properties from the drop down menu that appears.

  5. Alter the Target: box by adding a space then type the path to where you would like the datafiles to be stored. For example C:\Eudora\Eudora.exe C:\username\Eudora.

  6. Change the Start in: box, type the path to the datafiles that you specified in the previous step, for example C:\username\Eudora. Click on OK when done.

    NOTE: If the path to your datafiles contains a space, the whole path should be enclosed in double quotes ("). For example: C:\username\Eudora does not require double quotes while "C:\Program Files\username\Eudora" does. Please make sure that the Start in: directory exists, or else you will not be able to apply the changes to the shortcut.

  7. Start Eudora.

  8. You will be prompted to create a brand new account, click on Next.

  9. Make sure that Create a brand new email account is selected. Click on Next when done.

  10. Type the name of your new email account in the Your Name: box. Click on Next when done.

  11. Type your new email address in the Email Address: box. Click on Next when done.

  12. Type your new email address in the Login Name: box. Click on Next when done.

    Note: Some older versions of Eudora will register an error if you type in your email address. If you cannot retrieve your mail, or the configuration window complains about an invalid login name, replace the contents of the Login Name: box by your control code (The numeric part of your activation code)

  13. Type pop.primus.ca in the Incoming Server: box.

  14. Make sure that the POP radio button is selected. Click on Next when done.

  15. Type smtp.primus.ca in the Outgoing Server box. Click on Next when done.

  16. Click on Finish to commit the configuration and to start using Eudora.
